Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra with Ronald Brautigam
Programme
- Joseph Haydn Symphony no. 59 'Feuersinfonie'
- Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Piano Concerto No. 14
- Johannes Brahms Sextet no. 1
For this concert, the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra and the familiar pianist Ronald Brautigam are coming to Utrecht. In their case, a delightful classical-romantic programme. First up is a spectacular and theatrical symphony by Haydn with the nickname 'Feuer'. Was the occasion the fire that burnt down his house in Eisenstadt in 1768? Then the graceful, lyrical but also virtuoso Piano Concerto in E flat KV 449 that Mozart wrote for his gifted pupil Barbara Ployer. Finally, the beautiful String Sextet opus 18 by Johannes Brahms. It breathes an atmosphere of nostalgia and rusticity and is reminiscent of the serenades and nocturnes that were performed in the open air at night in Haydn's and Mozart's time.
Tickets will be on sale from 1 May.
