Just imagine what it will be like for a young composer. You have an honourable commission to inaugurate the jubilee season of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the Groot Omroepkoor with a large orchestral work of about twenty minutes, and suddenly a virus comes along. It happened to Jan-Peter de Graaff. According to the strict corona rules, his Event-Horizon could not be performed during the opening concert last season. Therefore, at the start of this season, a second chance for the world premiere. But first Jean Sibelius paints the sea nymphs from Greek mythology. And César Franck, in his Rédemption, reflects on human misery, sinfulness and error, but also shows how heavenly intervention makes things right again.
Tickets are on sale from 1 May.
