Beethoven: Missa solemnis

Programme

  • Ludwig van Beethoven Missa solemnis

Beethoven’s“Missa solemnis”
Beethoven’s “Missa solemnis” is less a liturgical work than a spiritual experience. The composer himself called it his “greatest composition”—a radiant counterpart in D major to the Ninth Symphony in D minor. The “Dona nobis pacem, ” “Grant us your peace,” leaves no one unmoved. The piece is a statement—and a calling card for the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and its chief conductor Klaus Mäkelä.

Please note: this is an international concert.
