Brahms
The Radio Philharmonic Orchestra links Shostakovich to Brahms. Dima Slobodeniouk, a beloved guest conductor of the orchestra, leads the delightful ThirdSymphony, which he wrote in Wiesbaden in the summer of 1883. Hans Richter, who premiered the work in Vienna in early December of that year, christened it Brahms' Eroica.
