The Groot Omroepkoor is a purified choir to cherish intensely. They perform the classical choral repertoire with passion, but are just as happy to make exciting excursions. Now they are joining forces with the beloved Georgian piano virtuoso Nino Gvetadze. Together, choir and pianist bend over a curious world premiere of Peter Vigh. In addition, the Groot Omroepkoor is perusing the treasury of sacred choral music.
The Groot Omroepkoor likes to make exciting choices. This time, the humane, spiritual choral music of Schubert is given extra exposure. Music that touches the heart, whether you are religious or not. That same profound beauty can be heard in the centuries-spanning works of Gesualdo, and some twentieth-century choral gems by Poulenc and Britten.
Concerts by pianist Nino Gvetadze continue to burn on eardrums. "An enormous pleasure awaits you," Gramophone Magazine praised her playing. Among other awards, Gvetadze has won the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Award and performs worldwide. With great empathy, she delves into the Romantic sound world of Brahms, Schubert and Schumann. Now she plays a brand new composition for the unusual combination of choir and piano.
