Kicking off the Jazz in 2 series at the Muziekcentrum van de Omroep will be the Undercurrent Trio. This Trio joins the forces of three lauded jazz musicians: saxophonist, (bass) clarinetist Iman Spaargaren, guitarist Guillermo Celano and drummer Marcos Baggiani. Undercurrent Trio's music offers a wide variety of moods. Heartfelt melodies move through musical landscapes full of timbres and contrasts. Cinematic music in dreamy colors, dark somber thick grooves or sharp edgy lines alternate. The three musicians explore compositions by taking a lot of freedom, strong interplay and fierce improvisations.

Special guest: Suzan Veneman, trumpet
Jazz trumpeter Suzan Veneman has been a notable presence on the jazz scene for over a decade, with her adventurous and soulful sound. At home in a wide range of styles, she has performed with Beets Meutgeert New Jazz Orchestra, the Millennium Jazz Orchestra, Zack Lober's NO FILL3R, Sprank, the Patrieck Bonnet Quintet and her own ambitious projects "Zinder" and the Suzan Veneman Sextet, among others.
