TRIO 258 plays Beethoven, Shostakovich and Rachmaninov
The relatively young TRIO 258 is formed by pianist Lestari Scholtes, violinist Eduardo Paredes Crespo and cellist Leonard Besseling, three inspired musicians with a wealth of experience in chamber music. The trio has performed in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, TivoliVredenburg Utrecht and the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, among others, in various Radio4 programs and at the Storioni Festival, among others. TRIO 258 aims for a pure approach to the late classical and romantic repertoire, with special attention to the zeitgeist. In this chamber music concert, the ensemble plays works by Beethoven and Shostakovich from the "iron" repertoire for piano trio, and surprises with the Prelude op. 32 No. 10 by Sergei Rachmaninov, usually taken up by virtuoso pianists and now heard in an arrangement for piano trio created by Thomas Beijer. A resounding congratulations in the 150th year of this composer's birth.
