What is it that leaves us breathless and silent at the end of Mozart’sRequiem? That makes us wipe away a tear during Pärt’s*Spiegel im Spiegel*? And that transports us deep into a dreamlike state after just a few minutesof *Canto Ostinato*? We don’t have an answer. What is certain is that these works are once again high on the Classical Top 400 list. The Radio Philharmonic Orchestra accompanies the list with a musical celebration of recognition.
New Works
As always, there’s room for new works with the potential to become classics. This time, harpist Remy van Kesteren will be performing his own compositions for harp and orchestra. The musician, who received the Dutch Music Prize in 2016, has established himself as an adventurous harpist and a gifted composer of music that is both captivating and exciting.
