Amsterdam Sinfonietta has invited two renowned Swedish musicians who have previously been received with acclaim in our country. Trumpeter Håkan Hardenberger can be heard here in one of the earliest concertos for trumpet, that of Telemann. In a virtuoso duet with soprano Johanna Wallroth, he lends lustre to Bach's jubilant cantata Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen. Sacred music from English soil and Swedish carols complete this beautifully composed program, making it the ideal run-up to the Christmas season.
