New Year's Reception Municipality of Hilversum

Programme

  • Giuseppe Verdi Overture from La forza del destino
  • Maurice Ravel Tzigane
  • Karmit Fadael Parting
  • Antonín Dvořák Fourth movement from the ninth symphony 'From the New World'
  • Johann Strauss Jr. Rosen aus dem Süden
  • Johann Strauss Sr. Radetzky march

As has been customary for years, the New Year's Reception of the Municipality of Hilversum is the first concert of the new year for the RFO. This year, because of the coronation measures, it will take place in a special form: via a live stream from the Muziekcentrum van de Omroep.

The programme includes a number of waltzes, of course, but also music by Verdi and Dvorák. Furthermore, there are two young talents in this programme: Charlotte Spruit and Karmit Fadael. In this concert, the former will be soloing with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time. The latter was the first young composer to receive the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra Stipendium. In this concert, she performs her first new work because of this grant.
