Artist in residence' of the AVROTROS Friday Concert Noa Wildschut is soloist in an all-French programme, with Camille Saint-Saëns' Third Violin Concerto as central piece. A brilliant piece and effectively written, with plenty of room for exciting violinistic display, and with a first movement full of allusions to gypsy music. The concert opens with Gabriel Fauré's Suite Pelléas et Mélissande and concludes with Saint-Saëns' Bacchanale from the opera Samson et Dalila.
