World premiere of the first of Rouken's 'The Kaleidoscopic'

This American-Dutch programme opens with Samuel Barber's famous Adagio, the most-played orchestral piece on American soil. Then an acclaimed piano virtuoso enters, the Russian Daniil Trifonov, for the Dutch premiere of the Piano Concerto by the American composer Mason Bates. He recently won a Grammy for his opera The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs. Finally, the world premiere of the First Symphony alias 'the Kaleidoscopic' by Joey Roukens, in the AVROTROS Friday Concert a familiar composer by now.
