Alexander Baev

Alexander Baev is 1st violinist of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. He was born in Kharkov, Soviet Union, in 1961. From 1966 to 1978 he attended the Central Music School of his birthplace. Alexander continued his violin studies at the Music College of the Moscow Conservatory. From 1981 to 1986 he studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. His teacher was Professor B. Belenky.

Alexander was already concertmaster of the symphony orchestra of the Music College. He held the same position in the chamber orchestra of the Moscow Conservatory until 1984. From 1984 to 1986 he was first violinist in the Grand Symphony Orchestra of Radio and Television of the Soviet Union. Alexander Baev then left for the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra, where he was concertmaster from 1988 to 1992.

Alexander has worked with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra since 1992. He is also a member of several other ensembles, such as the chamber orchestra New European Strings, the St-Petersburg Virtuosos and the Stradivarius Ensemble. He has participated in various international music festivals.

For the Russian label Melodija, Alexander collaborated on a CD with songs by Beethoven. He also made some recordings for Sarajevo radio and television.
