Gerard van Andel

Gerard van Andel plays the oboe and alto oboe in the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. He was born in Rotterdam in 1968 and studied oboe at the Utrechts Conservatorium. Here he had lessons from Ernest Rombout and Justine Gerretsen. He received his performing musician diploma in 1993.

In 1998, Gerard joined the Muziekcentrum van de Omroep as an alto oboist. Since 2005, he has been alto oboist in the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. He also teaches oboe at the Gouda music school.
