Jacco Groenendijk

Jacco Groenendijk is a trumpet player in the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. He was born in 1973 in Rotterdam. He studied at the conservatoire until he graduated in 2000. 

His teachers were Theo Mertens, Willem van der Vliet and Ad van Zon. Jacco has rehearsed in various orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the Air Force Chapel. With the Rotterdam Philharmonic Brass and the Groot Koperensemble Theo Mertens he participated in various projects.
From 1995-2000, Jacco was a permanent employee of Joop van den Ende Theaterprodukties and played in, among others, Evita, West-Side Story, Joe - the musical and Chicago - the musical. He also worked with the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy from 2001 to 2005. Since 2005 Jacco has been associated with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the Radio Chamber Philharmonic as tutti trumpet player. In his spare time Jacco plays indoor football, windsurfing, squash and cycle racing.
