Marleene Goldstein

Marleene Goldstein studied at the Sweelinck Conservatoire in Amsterdam with Peter Kooy and Lucia Meeuwsen. In recent years she has been taking lessons from Geert Berghs.

During her vocal studies, she participated as a soloist in music theatre productions and oratorio concerts. After some time, her preference for ensemble singing became apparent. Immediately after graduating in 1997, she got a job in the Groot Omroepkoor. In 2001 she changed jobs and became a member of the Nederlands Kamerkoor. At the same time she became an alto with Quink Vocal Ensemble. She left this ensemble in 2007. Besides the NKK, she sang with other professional ensembles such as Vocaallab, The Amsterdam Baroque Choir, the Nederlandse Bachvereniging and Cappella Amsterdam.

Besides choir work, Marleene has done several solo projects, such as a short film directed by Ramon Gieling based on Bibabo by Simeon ten Holt, The Bauermelody by pop group Bauer in collaboration with the Metropole Orkest, Sinfonia by Berio with the NNO and eight singers and De Materie by Louis Andriessen with Asko|Schönberg.

Marleene also performs as a soloist in oratorios, with a particular predilection for the works of J.S Bach.

Marleene is married, has 3 children, a cat and 2 rabbits!
