Petra Botma-Zijlstra

Petra Botma is principal horn player in the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. She was born in 1962 in Schraard, Friesland, studied at the Music Pedagogical Academy in Leeuwarden and then with Oldrich Milek at the Conservatory in Zwolle, where she graduated in 1988. Petra was third and substitute principal horn player in the Gelders Orchestra. From 2000 to 2007 she was principal study teacher in horn at the ArtEZ Conservatoire in Zwolle. Petra has worked with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra since 2001. She is a substitute for various Dutch orchestras and ensembles, has contributed to a large number of CD recordings and also performs solo.

Petra spends her free time with her three children, reading and walking.
