Sárka (from My Fatherland)

Laurens Otto is a horn player in the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. Until August 2013 he also played in the Radio Kamer Filharmonie. 

He studied at Rotterdam Conservatoire with Martin van de Merwe and Bob Stoel. He also took part in master classes with Ab Koster, Michael Thompson, Richard Watkins, Peter Damm and Hermann Baumann. In June 2004, he concluded his second phase studies with the premiere of a horn concerto by Patrick van Deurzen, written for soloist. This resulted in another new work, 'Romance' by Rocco Havelaar for solo horn and ensemble, completed in 2005. 

Laurens played in the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Doelen Ensemble, the Van Swieten Society and the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, among others. In 2003 he joined the Radio Symphony Orchestra, now the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. Laurens received a scholarship from the Friends of Rotterdam Conservatoire.
