Ansfried Plat

Ansfried Plat is a cellist with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. He was born in 1969 in Amsterdam and studied in Groningen with Ben de Ligt. Here he obtained his diploma as a teaching musician. He continued his studies at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague with Jean Decroos. In 1996 Ansfried graduated as a performing musician with him.

Ansfried previously played in the National Youth Orchestra. He was a substitute with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra for several years, before being given a permanent position in 1996. In addition to his current orchestral work, Ansfried is a member of the piano trio Atlantic Trio. In recent years, he has also performed as a soloist in Brahms' Double Concerto, among other works. Ansfried plays a cello by Jaap Bolink, made available to him by the National Music Instruments Fund.
