Bernard Beniers

Bernard Beniers studied tuba at the Brabants Conservatorium with Piet Joris. He made study trips to Finland, Sweden and Italy and studied there with Michael Lind and Roger Bobo.
He was tuba player with the Noordhollands Philharmonisch Orkest from 1986 to 1989. Since then he has played in the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. Together with colleagues, he also forms the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. As principal study teacher at various conservatoires, he has trained many musicians for tuba and euphonium.
In operas of Verdi, Bernard plays on cimbasso. A cimbasso is a brass instrument from the trombone family, which is usually played by the tuba player.
