Ingrid Geerlings

Ingrid Geerlings is 1st flautist of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra since August 2013. Before that she was flautist in the Radio Chamber Philharmonic. Ingrid was born in 1972 in Noordwijkerhout. In 1997 she completed her studies at the Sweelinck Conservatoire in Amsterdam with a 10 with distinction. Her teacher was Koos Verheul. She also took private lessons and master classes with Aurele Nicolet, Peter Lukas Graf, Karlheinz Zòller, Paul Verheij and Patrick Gallois.

In 1995, Ingrid won first prize at the European Chamber Music Competition in Colmar, France. Four years later she was awarded the Vriendenkrans of the Royal Concertgebouw. In that year, she also received the press award from the Volkskrant and NRC-Handelsblad.

As a principal flautist, Ingrid has worked with Bernard Haitink and Valeri Gergjev, among others. She can be heard on the CD Musikalische Talente Europas. Besides her current job, she is flautist in the Schönberg Ensemble.
