Kerstin Kendler

Kerstin Kendler was born in 1968 in the north German town of Heide, where she graduated from the Werner Heisenberg Gymnasium in 1987. She subsequently studied the violin with Isabella Petrosjan at the Hamburger Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst. In 1994 she completed her violin studies with a Bachelor of Teaching Musician and a Master of Performing Musician.
Kerstin substituted in the NDR Sinfonieorchester (now the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester) until she got a job in 1996 in the Netherlands as first violinist in the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra.
As a passionate chamber music player, she has performed at music festivals in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Brazil. For over 20 years, she and her partner Igor Bobylev have formed a duo, exploring the repertoire for violin and viola. They have already twice given live performances in "The Classics" on NPO Radio 4. At the beginning of 2019, the duo founded the Gabriël Trio together with cellist Mirjam Bosma.
