Maja Roodveldt

Maja Roodveldt, soprano in the Groot Omroepkoor.
In 1991, after my training at the Sweelinck Conservatoire in Amsterdam, I came in as a freelancer and since 1994 I have been in permanent employment. In the meantime I have been able to celebrate my 25th anniversary and I am still proud to be part of this wonderful ensemble!
It is a great privilege to be able to sing with conductors such as Bernard Haitink, Jaap van Zweden, Edo de Waard, Valerie Gergiev and John Adams and even if you don't always sing the music of your dreams, the magic of singing together never bores.
And I still think every time I walk into the great hall of the Concertgebouw: "Look at me now! That remains fantastic!
I count myself lucky that I have always been able to sing solo, both in and outside the choir.
Nowadays I like to pass on my knowledge and love for singing to the younger generation. Teaching is something that gives me a lot of energy.

In addition to my work at GOK, I have my own business: Studio Klankbord, where I, as a speech and presentation coach, advise driven professionals who are great in their profession but whose fear of public speaking gets in the way of their ambition.
It is a great advantage to be able to speak from the heart.
