The German soprano Tanja Obalski studied solo singing at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Margreet Honig and Howard Crook. In 2001 she obtained her diploma 1st phase and in 2003 a diploma 2nd phase in baroque singing. She also took master classes with Jill Feldman and Emma Kirkby, among others.
In 2005 she was a laureate of the Concours International de Chant Baroque de Chimay and in 2007 a finalist of the oratorio competition Nederlandse Vocalisten Presentatie.
As a soloist, she can be heard in oratorios, cantatas and chamber music concerts both in the Netherlands and abroad.
Tanja Obalski has been a substitute with the Groot Omroepkoor since 2006. She has been with the choir since the 2010-2011 season.
