Offer CD box set Jan Stulen
Conductor Jan Stulen (1942 - 2017) made numerous recordings for radio and television in his lifetime. Radio producer Okke Dijkhuizen, who regularly worked with Stulen in the 1980s and 1990s, discovered a treasure trove of bequeathed radio recordings made for the then Hilversum 4 and later Radio 4. He was so struck by the quality of these that he decided to release the recordings on CD. This resulted in February of this year in the CD box set Jan Stulen - A Tribute with no less than 6 CDs. The CD box is accompanied by excellent documentation, to be found in a bilingual booklet.

The CDs feature recordings of fine and varied music played by three radio orchestras under Stulen's inspiring direction. Works by great masters such as Schumann, Ravel, Glazunov, Brahms, Elgar and Shostakovich are interspersed with surprising, lesser-known works, including a CD of Dutch compositions. All this gives a good picture of Jan Stulen's craftsmanship and enormous versatility.
