The Netherlands Broadcasting Music Center will be in the limelight for Open Monuments Day 2022 on Saturday, September 10 from 11:00 am to 4:45 pm. Admission to the various events in our national monument is free, but please register via the site or one of the links below. Welcome!

Guided tours, films and live music

The Music Center of Broadcasting (MCO) is traditionally a building where music is created for the Dutch broadcasters, performed by choirs and orchestras of the broadcaster. It is the home of the current Groot Omroepkoor and the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, the MCO offers its own programming including series such as Piano & Passion, Chamber Music, Family Concerts and Jazz in 2.

11:00 - 12:00 guided tours
The MCO staff will be happy to show you around the building at Hilversum's highest point, the impressive studios and numerous other facilities. Please register via:

12:15 - 13:15: Film and live concert on the Pierre Palla Concert Organ
The historic Pierre Palla Concert Organ - stored in parts for years and almost forgotten - was restored and rebuilt a few years ago in Studio 1 of the MCO. A monument within a monument. Starting at 12:15 p.m., a film will be shown about the organ, followed by live playing.

13.45 - 14.15: Nienke Nasserian Nillesen, soprano, classical music theatre
Especially for Open Monument Day 2022, the Dudok Architecture Center is programming two performances by Nienke Nasserian Nillesen in Studio 1 of the Muziekcentrum van de Omroep. She combines storytelling, classical singing and electro-acoustic music in a short, breathtaking performance. More information and registration at:
