On Saturday 12 December 2020 Jaap van Zweden will celebrate his 60th birthday in the NTR ZaterdagMatinee. With the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the Groot Omroepkoor he will then perform Beethoven's opera Fidelio.

In honour of his birthday, he was a guest in Podium Witteman on 6 December. An ensemble from the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra played for the honorary guest conductor.
