Celebrating the 300th anniversary of the creation of the first book of J.S. Bach's Das wohltemperierte Klavier? That original thought occurred to pianist Julien Libeer. He decided to cast the work in a light as striking as it was unusual for this occasion: he connected the preludes and fugues in major with later pieces in the corresponding minor key, looking for composers who in their own way elaborated on Bach's brainchild. Thus was born J.S. Bach & beyond - A Well-tempered Conversation, featuring, in addition to Bach, the works of Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Ligeti and Schoenberg, among others. This compilation was recently captured on CD and can count on rave reviews from the international trade press, as can his previous CD recordings. Julien is a guest here to perform his Well-tempered Conversation live.
