Programme

  • Øyvind Torvund A walk into the future (Dutch premiere)
  • Antonín Dvořák Cello Concerto
  • Sergei Rachmaninov Symphonic dances

This concert features artist in residence Ella van Poucke. She is soloist in the compelling, virtuosic and also singing Cello Concerto that Antonín Dvořák wrote while in the U.S. as director of the National Conservatory of Music in New York. The concert concludes with the last substantial orchestral work that Russian emigrant Sergei Rachmaninov committed to paper in the U.S., a musical painting of the seasons of life.
