Patrick Lange leads the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra in Schumann's highly romantic Fourth Symphony. A festive Mozart symphony and Caroline Shaw's beloved Entr'acte for stringswill also be performed .

Mozart twice received requests from his (rich) childhood friend Sigmund Haffner for special music for a family celebration. Melodies from these serenades found their way into Symphony No 35, which is nicknamed 'Haffner'. The festive character was maintained in this symphony full of drama. The third movement is a minuet, the dance popular in Mozart's time that was also frequently used by Haydn. One of Haydn's minuets was the inspiration for Caroline Shaw's Entr'acte. With this string work, this Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer wrote one of her most performed pieces.

The German conductor Patrick Lange is mainly known for his work in opera and music theatre. Today he is leaving his Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden to conduct one of Schumann's most beautiful orchestral works. Although there is no singing in the highly romantic Fourth Symphony, it is full of passion and drama. And here too, a danceable third movement awaits the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra.
