Pieces of Tomorrow with Arthur and Lucas Jussen - CANCELLED

Programme

  • Leoš Janáček Jealousy
  • Joey Roukens In unison
  • Antonín Dvořák The Noon Witch

This concert has been cancelled due to the current corona measures. Ticket buyers will be notified.

The pop and classical departments of TivoliVredenburg join forces to present Pieces of Tomorrow: classical music in a new guise. No dress code, we start a little later, the musicians briefly introduce what they are going to play, you can take your beer inside, DJ St. Paul is our host, visuals support the story and we let the music do the talking, it needs no adjustment. Immerse yourself in the sound of a full symphony orchestra!

Contemporary music, like modern visual art, has a difficult image. The Pieces-of-Tomorrow team changes all that: the piece that young Dutch composer Joey Roukens wrote for the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and pianist-brothers Arthur and Lucas Jussen is phenomenally good. Roukens brilliantly mixes high- & lowbrow. Soundtrack meets techno, wellness meets tight, cheesy meets sophisticated.

The solid classical label Deutsche Gramophon thinks it is such a good piece that they make a CD of it. And it will be recorded at Pieces of Tomorrow! So hold onto your beer glass extra tight.
