On 2 June 1122 Emperor Hendrik V granted city rights to the inhabitants of Utrecht and Utrecht officially became a city, almost the first city in the country. In the Middle Ages, Utrecht was even the most important and largest city in the Northern Netherlands. In honour of the 900th anniversary of the Domstad, a beautiful programme will be played for, by and with as many Utrechters as possible. Besides festive music, there will be a beautiful parade of light sculptures to admire.
