Luuk Tuinder

Luuk Tuinder completed his studies of organ and singing at the Groningen Conservatoire. His main focus then became singing and since then he has participated in many concerts as a soloist. As a singer he is permanently connected to the Groot Omroepkoor.

Besides his activities as a singer, he also developed himself as a conductor. In that capacity, he has been the conductor of the choir Amor Cantandi from Ten Boer for many years. With them, he has performed the Requiem by Mozart, the Requiem by Fauré, Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini and the Messe Solennelle by Gounod, among others. Special performances include Bach's St John Passion in 2015.

With the COV from Groningen, he performed the Gloria by Vivaldi, the Messiah by Händel, the Paulus by Mendelssohn, the Magnificat by Bach and the Oratorio de Noël by Saint Saens, among others.

As the conductor of Capella Frisiae, he performed Daniel de Lange's Requiem and Daan Manneke's Psalms Quiem in the spring of 2011.

Since January 2014 Luuk is conductor of men's choir Valerius from Emmen. With them he made recordings for the EO programme Nederland zingt which were broadcast in November and December 2014.

He is also the conductor during performances of cantatas by J.S. Bach in Vries and Zuidhorn.

Luuk has an extensive student practice at home. With these students he regularly gives performances. Around the commemoration of the dead on 4 May 2015 in Vries, they performed the Musikalische Exequien by Schütz.
