The fascinating story behind a controversial musical genius. This is told by Tijl Beckand in the new documentary series Tijl in the footsteps of Richard Wagner.

The Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and chief conductor Karina Canellakis made a special contribution for each episode. Tijl spoke with them and learns more about the secrets of this controversial musical genius. Tijl starts his journey through Europe in Paris and goes from Zurich to Venice and also arrives in Bayreuth, Germany. He visits the places where Wagner lived and worked.
