Elisabeth Perry

Elisabeth Perry joined the Radio Chamber Orchestra in 1991 as concertmaster. Afterwards she held this position with the Radio Chamber Philharmonic and since August 2013 she is 1st concert master with the Radio Philharmonic.
At a young age she was selected by Yehudi Menuhin for his school in England. At 13, she made her debut at the Royal Albert Hall, playing Bach's Double Concerto with Menuhin.
At 17, she entered the Juilliard School in New York; she studied with Dorothy Delay and Oscar Shumsky. The various competitions she won in the United States gave her the opportunity to perform widely, including twice in Carnegie Hall. In Chicago's Orchestra Hall she played Bartok's Second Violin Concerto.

Elisabeth Perry has performed as a soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonia Orchestra's at the Barbican and South Bank concert halls in London, and has distinguished herself by her wide-ranging repertoire and versatility.
She has a great interest in 20th century music. For example, she played the American premiere of Schnittke's Quasi Una Sonata in New York.

She also plays a lot of chamber music, especially in the Spinoza Quartet and the Rietveld ensemble. Elisabeth Perry has taught violin at the Utrecht Conservatoire since 2002. She has recorded CDs, mainly chamber music by Schubert, Beethoven and Nyman, for various labels. She can also be heard as a soloist in several recordings by radio orchestras.
